Foundation Mourns Passing of Space Visionary – Sir Arthur C. Clarke's Lasting Legacy to be Celebrated July 19th at the Foundation's Annual Conference
Nyack, NY, March 21, 2008 – Science and science fiction alike lost a legend this past week with the passing of Sir Arthur C. Clarke. Credited with introducing the concept of communications satellites in 1945, Clarke also wrote more than 30 non-fiction works and dozens of short stories and novels. Although most remembered as the co-author of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Clarke was a staunch advocate of personal space flight.
